FREE Summer Reading Log and Book List for Kids

One of the items on my kids’ summer bucket list this year was to read a book. (You can check out the post about our summer bucket list – including a FREE PRINTABLE ===>>> HERE!) And with any luck, hopefully I can get them to read more than one! 😉

Summer reading is such a great way for kids to avoid the “summer slide” that typically happens when school is out of session.  And let’s be honest, I think the “summer slide” may have set in the second I took over as their home school teacher this spring when COVID-19 struck.

I don’t know about your kids, but I have been struggling to get mine to find the motivation or interest to read this summer. I’m hoping some of these summer books will peak the interest of my young readers!

I’ve also designed a cute Summer Reading Log for my kids to keep track of the books that they’re completing along the way. Now, I just have to come up with a good reward for them to receive when they’ve filled up their reading logs… I don’t think there’s any shame in a little bribery!

Here are some of the cutest summer-themed books that I have come across! Hopefully they will get your child interested in reading this summer! I found all of them available at either Amazon or Thrift Books! Or of course, you could try checking them out at your local library!
